The U-Turn is an impact-driven social enterprise dedicated to empowering youth and women through interactive workshops, skills training, impactful discussions, inspiring live shows, and community engagement. We create spaces for learning, reflection, and action; equipping individuals and communities to drive meaningful, long-lasting change.
We are based in Canada, with operations in Ontario and British Columbia, and work internationally. Most of our programs are delivered virtually through digital platforms, enabling global reach and meaningful engagement.
The U-Turn was born out of lived experience, deep frustration and the determination to create change. Our founding team is a diverse collective of women with rich personal stories, professional expertise, and a shared passion for helping others navigate life’s turning points.
Our philosophy rests on three pillars:
Our mandate is to catalyze a mindset shift and create pathways for South Sudanese youth and women to tap into home-country opportunities, reclaim agency, and drive local and global change through dialogue, skills development, entrepreneurship, and innovation
We envision thriving, self-reliant communities where empowered youth and women, at home and in the diaspora, lead systems transformation, innovation, and sustainable development.
Creating spaces that are for us, by us. Where acceptance is the guiding rule.
Providing the tools, knowledge, and resources to succeed in your journey.
Promoting long-term growth and self-sufficiency for individuals and communities.
Rooted in Ubuntu, we build networks to help you achieve your dreams.
Leveraging the use of emerging technologies, learned and lived expertise
Upholding the highest standards of ethics and professionalism in all activities.
